Western Australian Curriculum

 

NAPLAN testing is a National testing programme provided each year, usually in May. Year 3 and 5 participate in Reading, Writing, Language Conventions and Numeracy assessments the results of which are compared against students of the same age around Australia.

 

Science (WA Monitoring Standards in Education) This assessment for Year 5 students provides evidence of student achievement. It measures the skills, knowledge and understandings of the Science taught in schools across the State.

 

Society and Environment (WA Monitoring Standards in Education) This assessment for Year 5 students provides evidence of student achievement. It measures the skills, knowledge and understandings of the Society and Environment taught in schools across the State.

 

Bishops’ Religious Testing   Year 3 and 5 students complete this assessment in August. It covers aspects of the religious curriculum and other religious understandings.

 

Standardised Testing The classes from Year 1 to 6 complete a series of standardised tests in February and again in September to monitor progress.
