Welcome to St Joseph’s School
On behalf of the Staff and students of St Joseph’s School, Southern Cross, I would like to welcome you and your family to our school community. We welcome your interest, support and encouragement in all aspects of school life.
St Joseph’s provides a Christ centered environment where students develop as compassionate, responsible and engaged members of the community. Our mission is to proclaim and witness the Gospel in a Catholic environment. We aim to integrate these values into the entire curriculum and life of the school. Our school motto ‘Honesty’ helps us to focus on what is truly important to us at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School. Also, Saint Mary of The Cross, our Patron strived to ‘never see a need without doing something about it.’
Children from Pre- Kindergarten to Year Six are offered a Quality Catholic Education, which focusses on the whole child. The comprehensive curriculum is stimulating and challenging as we encourage our students to become confident, independent and collaborative learners who have, at their core, the Gospel values that Jesus taught us.
Our innovative and dedicated staff strive to provide the best possible spiritual, academic, social and physical opportunities for our students. Our Teaching and Learning program provides a wide range of educational and faith experiences, creating lifelong learners who have the ability to draw upon processes and skills, to manage the demands of our future.
Specialist Areas include: Physical Education, STEM, Art and Chinese. We have a strong emphasis on 21st Century learning with all classes from Pre-Kindergarten to Year Six having access to an Interactive Whiteboard or LED TV with Apple TV. All students participate in our 1:1 iPad program.
The School Advisory Council and Parents and Friends Association work closely with the school to build and strengthen a vibrant community spirit.
